Sandra Towne: Owner/Broker
Originally from Vermont, I am now a “died in the cotton” Southern Virginian. Committed to sustainable farming and forest management, Virginia provides a wonderfully diverse assortment of opportunity to those in love with “dirt”.
I established Properties of Virginia to provide the best advice and links available to buyers and sellers like me. Whatever your goals; banking on pine, farm to family beef, crop production or a country, quiet home… your rural dream is here.
Brought up in the countryside in Scotland; I have enjoyed the transition to living and working in Virginia as it very similar to my homeland. With lots of forestry, game hunting and ample opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast, Virginia is the perfect place to live or retreat to with all the things you love and at a pace that is just right.
Working seasonally on my fathers farm in the Gordonsville area of Virginia helping with the lambing, calving and border collies has allowed me to understand what it takes to make a farm work. Being involved with sheepdog trialing and horse trail riding gives us vast experience with what buyers are looking for.
I enjoy having the pleasure of showing people around these beautiful places and making sure that everything is just right to fit their lives and investment expectations.
From General Store owner to Entrepreneur, living the rural life from casual country to cattle farm, I have lived happily embracing all things rural and unique. Cozy cottage life or up at dawn feeding the herd, I have an intimate knowledge of what may fulfill your dreams in the properties we list and sell.
An avid renovator, I can help you visualize the potential in a fixer upper or share in your delight at finding the property that is ready for you. My own experience searching for a farm in south central Virginia brought me to Brunswick County. The people are kind and welcoming – their interests and backgrounds diverse. The location is ideal and the weather as I like to say – “This is why we live in Virginia” on those wonderful blue sky work in the garden days. Please come join us.
